How Are Crowns For Teeth Placed?

If you and Dr. Bray determine that a crown is the right solution for you, the first step will be to prep your tooth for the crown. Because a crown slips right over the top of your natural tooth, we need to shape the tooth to create room for the crown so that it doesn’t cause pressure to your other teeth and gives you the most natural appearance. Dr. Bray will make sure that you are numb and completely comfortable before beginning the crowns for teeth procedure.

Once your tooth has been prepped and the dental crown procedure can begin, we’ll take impressions and images to send to the lab that will be creating your crown. Dr. Bray will then place temporary crowns for teeth protecting the prepared tooth and reduce sensitivity.

In about two weeks, your crown will be back from the lab, and you can return to our office to have the permanent crown bonded into place. We’ll check the fit, and when both you and Dr. Bray are happy with the look and feel of the crown, you’ll be free to continue on with the rest of your day!
